Moycullen under 12s players key to Galwegian's success
Moycullen under 12s rugby players, Killian Mullarkey, from Woodlands and Darren Butler, Kevin O'Donovan
and Conor Lowndes from Kylebroghlan, were key to Galwegian's success in London Irish’s Festival of
mini-rugby, 28th-29th April 2007. This mini-rugby tournament is the largest in Europe with players mainly from Britain and
Ireland but also more exotic rugby countries such as Norway. Over 1800 players competing in
age groups ranging from under 7s to under 12s, with the Galwegians Lions squad winning the under
12s A tournament outright and the Galwegians Tigers winning the under 12s Plate competition.
A fantastic result for underage rugby not just in Galway, but Connacht and Ireland!
Accompanying the lads are Noel Lowndes and Damien Mullarkey.
While rugby is not directly available within Moycullen, there is considerable interest and participation in the
activites of both Galwegians and Corinthians clubs.
